Culture of Respect

The Board of Trustees, Superintendent, executive staff and Employee Associations recognize the importance of working within a culture of respect. With that in mind, a draft document was developed and distributed earlier this year. We asked for comments and feedback to this document in a survey. The Culture of Respect survey produced many responses. After a comprehensive review of the responses and discussions with stakeholders, the Culture of Respect committee has made relatively small but very significant changes to the document. Once again we invite you to view the document and submit comments.

  1. Reinstate the original wording; in other words, the words that were crossed out. The revision sounds toothless.

  2. Restore the original policy. It sounds like there is no accountability, and that it’s a policy that is hoped to be adopted. Where’s the true backing for what we have been hearing? We need everyone, even top administrators to be considerate and respectful of others in this culture. Make it happen!
